Which companies in the industry stand out in regards to their view and actions in CSR?

The IT department has been growing over the past years, becoming probably one of the biggest markets in today’s society.

One of the IT companies that stand out regarding their views and actions in CSR is probably “Apple”. Their view is more of a green, “let’s save the ecosystem” attitude, which I really admire. If you buy a Mac computer, IPod, IPhone or any other product from Apple, once they break or they do not function anymore, you can return them to the company so that they will personally recycle the parts in order to save energy.

Their technology reached a level where a portable computer can survive without being plugged in up to 8 hours, this means that you will consume less energy and save the planet!

I personally think that Apple is one of the greatest companies existent in today’s society because they really care about the environment and they are actually encouraging their millions of customers in doing something good for this world.

What are some interesting mission statements or values statements of some of the companies in your industry? What does this represent about them?

The biggest market of this century, the IT department, has many different companies that share lost of interesting ideas and goals, such as Microsoft, Google, Yahoo, and of course Apple.

Apple is a company that was funded back in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. At the beginning of Apple’s journey, they only sold computers while now, Apple has developed its products thanks to their impressive advance in technology. Apple now provides us customers with a big variety of good and services such as IPods, IPhones, the App Store and so on.

They have always been an eco-friendly firm not only because it was what the three founders believed in but also because this is what people want.

This shows that Apple has always been there for helping not only people but also the environment. This gives us customer an idea that Apple’s first goal is not only to make a profit just like other firms, but it is also to save the environment and make things better.

Their most recent mission statement is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful, this means that their main goal is to let anyone make use of the universal information.

Apple has always been known as a good company in terms of ethics. We all know it and love it because of the way they manage the company.
