The concept of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): is that corporations and organizations have many responsibilities, ethical and social and charitable responsibilities and must comply with laws and ethics and international legislation and CSR within the self-regulation for companies where work is monitored to make sure that companies comply with law, Ethical Standards and norms of international.
Yahoo Inc. is working to make information available to people around the world; through the expansion of communication and its search engine. Yahoo has also worked to protect and promote freedom of expression and privacy on the Internet. In 2008, Yahoo launched its business and human rights program hosted some of the works of charity are concerned with human rights to educate people about freedom of expression on the Internet. Which consists: human rights fund – Yahoo has been established in partnership with the Laogai Research Foundation (LRF) for the provision of freedom of expression for jailed politicians and to provide humanitarian and legal support for them, and also to provide area for them to express their views online on the Internet, and to provide assistance to their families.
The LRF was founded in 1992 to document and raise public awareness of the people. Yahoo partnered with this company to help minimize the violation of human rights in China while the Chinese government has established camps and detention centers to arrest and torture people. LRF and Yahoo have provided important information for researchers and activists and opponents of the policy of violating human rights to detect acts of violence against detainees politicians by the Chinese government
Laogai museum was established in 2008 with support from Yahoo Fund for Human Rights and Laogai museum is the first museum established in the United States that it is dedicated to human rights in China. In 2009 the LRF worked on open Laogai Archives and reveal important documents were not available to researchers, some would say that these documents are invaluable because they uncovered government documents, pictures and video of detainees belonging to politicians and this is one of the achievements of Yahoo's human rights program.
And academic fellowships – .Fellowship program:
In addition to the services provided by Yahoo. Yahoo has worked on the establishment of programs in many universities in the United States to advance the work of scientific programs, scholastic and media, one of these programs is the Yahoo International Press Fellowship at Stanford University, Yahoo created an International Press Fellowship in Stanford University in 2006 to support the work of journalists from countries where there are difficulties and problems in the freedom of the press to help overcome these difficulties
Another program was established at Georgetown University in 2007 and this program supports activities, education and scientific search. Fellows from all over the world and from different sectors (government, civil society, some companies) have participated in this program. It is called “Yahoo! International Values, Communications, Technology, and Global Internet Fellowship Fund at Georgetown University.”
